Parliament has lifted the ban on private companies to design, manufacture, operate and launch rocket carriers.
Bill 1071 regulating the issue was given the second reading and was passed as a whole by 308 MPs.
Space activities may be carried out by enterprises, establishments and organisations of any form of ownership and legal form, not just state-owned companies.
A private company planning to engage in space activities shall inform the State Space Agency of Ukraine by filing a declaration of intent.
Ukraine cooperates with 30 countries in the space industry. Antares rockets were successfully launched with Ukraine's participation in 2018 as part of a joint project with the USA while Vega rockets were launched as part of the European Space Agency programme.
