Ukraine is ready to hand over to russia the bodies of the dead occupiers. Ukrainian military authorities loaded the bodies of russian soldiers collected after fighting in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions onto refrigerated rail cars on Friday, May 13, Reuters reports.
Volodymr Lyamzin, the head of Ukraine’s civil-military cooperation, said his country was acting in accordance with international law and was ready to return the bodies to russia.
"Ukraine is ready to return the bodies to the aggressor,” he said.
According to Lyamzin, there were several refrigerated trains in different regions of Ukraine, where the bodies of Russian invaders were stored. In particular, several hundred bodies were stored at a facility on the outskirts of Kyiv.
According to the latest data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 26,900 russian servicemen have died in Ukraine since February 24. Russia has not updated the death toll since March 25. Then it was about 1351 dead.
