The state-owned defence concern Ukroboronprom has launched serial production of Atlet (Athlete) armoured vehicles, President Petro Poroshenko has said.
These repair and evacuation vehicles will provide technical support for tank units and are expected to significantly boost their combat capacity.
"Atlets also have a significant export potential, which will allow us to load the production facilities of the Kharkiv design bureau after Ukroboronprom completes the state defence order," the president said.
Ukroboronprom recently said that it had completed the contract on the supply of Oplot-T tanks to Thailand.
