The Defence Council of Kharkiv Region has decided to expand the zone of mandatory and forced evacuation in Kupyansk district.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Synyehubov reported this.

This concerns the evacuation of the population, as well as the forced evacuation of families with children from 12 settlements in the Shevchenkove community. In total, 756 people, including 74 children, need to be taken from this area to safer places.

"A decision was also made on mandatory evacuation by force of families with children from 11 settlements in the Velykyy Burluk community. These are 34 families raising 54 children. We also considered expanding the network of safe educational environments. Where terrain features make it difficult to build full-fledged bomb shelters with radiation-protection functions, we are working on alternative solutions," the RMA head reported.
